From its first watch in 2005 to this new model, RALF TECH has always been at the forefront of ocean exploration. Since the dawn of time, humans have sought to understand their environment in order to better control it. While we are now working in space and planning to go to Mars, we are still unable to reach the bottom of the ocean on our own planet. With an average depth of 3,682 meters, the oceans represent 96% of the biosphere's volume. The ocean thus remains our final frontier. And since its average depth is 3,682 meters, we decided we wanted to go that far... or a little further! Remember... in 2005, the RALF TECH WR1 reached -330 meters on the arm of a scuba diver.

To this day, it remains the deepest diving watch ever worn in real conditions. In 2011, the WRX was certified to -1,000 meters and became the watch of the Combat Swimmers of the Commando Hubert of the French Navy. In 2022, after more than two years of development and testing, THE BEAST was born. Tested and certified to -3000 meters in real conditions, it is the brand's most extreme model, placing THE BEAST directly in the very exclusive circle of extraordinary diving watches.

Today, THE BEAST Manufacture Automatic “Edition II” goes even further with water resistance tested statically and certified in real conditions at -4000 meters.

THE STORY IN HISTORY!

The first sea trials of THE BEAST were carried out by CEPHISMER, the French Navy's testing center, in 2019. The depth reached, already remarkable, was then -3,000 meters.

The trials were conclusive but limited by the robots' ability to go deeper at that time. The decision was then made to contact the American submarine manufacturer TRITON.

At the same time, production of THE BEAST was launched in the workshop. In March 2022, almost two years after the first trials (due to the pandemic), a pre-production model reached a depth of -3,500 meters. And on July 1, 2022, a production model reached and was certified by TRITON at a record depth of -4,000 meters. With a dial marked -3,000 meters! THE BEAST Manufacture First Edition was therefore an anachronism or relatively inaccurate... Finally corrected with the arrival of the new model.

THE BEAST Manufacture Automatic “Edition II,” directly derived from tests carried out in 2022, finally bridges the gap between theory and practice, between the reality of testing and the markings on the dials! With a depth reached of -4000 meters in real conditions, THE BEAST Manufacture “Edition II” definitively joins the very private club of three watches that have reached or exceeded -3,682 meters, the average depth of the oceans!

A DIAL WITH OPTIMAL READABILITY.

Very open, very legible, and of course very diving-oriented, the dial features a midnight blue background in homage to the depths of the oceans. The large hour and minute hands, as well as the classic diving indices—triangles, circles, and rectangles—are coated with Superluminova® “Old Radium.” They allow for instant and reliable time reading, thus preventing divers from making any mistakes underwater. Readability is, of course, excellent both day and night. A 100% FRENCH MANUFACTURED MOVEMENT.

The first 100% French manufactured automatic movement, it took our partner, PEQUIGNET, three years to develop. Thanks to its bidirectional winding, its frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, and the efficiency of its escapement, its power reserve can reach up to 77 hours, a record for an automatic watch. Its “stop-second” system also allows for ultra-precise time setting. AN EXCLUSIVE WATERPROOFING SYSTEM.

Like previous versions, the new THE BEAST Manufacture Automatic “Edition II” features a case back with a full encapsulation system. This innovation seals the case back to the case, ensuring optimal water resistance. This system also eliminates the need for a helium valve for saturation diving, a system that weakens the case. Only RALF TECH has the specific tools required to open and close the case back of this model, thus guaranteeing the original water resistance, service after service.

EXTRAORDINARY TECHNICAL FEATURES.

One of the model's most remarkable performances is that THE BEAST is only 17mm thick, which is pretty awesome considering how much pressure it can handle. Its size is just right for what it can do, making it perfect for daily use by professional divers and amateurs of fine watchmaking. It also features a professional “Diamond Shape” rotating bezel. Unidirectional and graduated to 60 minutes, it rotates in 120 clicks, allowing for exceptionally accurate time measurement.

It is equipped with a matte ceramic insert, making it resistant to scratches and the rough treatment sometimes encountered in real underwater working conditions.

Finally, its shape, designed in collaboration with our professional divers, allows for a perfect grip in all conditions of use. It therefore keeps divers safe by allowing them to read dive and decompression times with precision. With the thickest scratch-resistant sapphire crystal on the market for a production watch at 6mm thick, a 12mm thick case in certain strategic places, and wide straps held in place by anti-pull-out threaded rods, THE BEAST is truly a watch of superlatives.

Operating within a range of -10° to +55°, THE BEAST's resistance to shocks and vibrations is exceptional for an automatic watch. It is therefore suitable for all divers, whether freediving, scuba diving, deep-sea diving, using an underwater propulsion system, in a hyperbaric chamber, or of course in a submersible.
