The Sincrono Perspective

There are watches with impressive specifications.

And then there are specifications that make you wonder whether somebody at RALF TECH simply refused to say “that's enough”.

Four thousand metres.

That is what makes THE BEAST Manufacture Automatic Edition II fascinating to me.

Not because any of us are likely to require it, but because watches such as this represent engineering pursued almost for its own sake.

The case is enormous at 47.7mm, and pretending otherwise would be ridiculous. But THE BEAST isn't trying to slip discreetly beneath a shirt cuff. It was developed as a professional diving instrument capable of resisting pressures few mechanical watches will ever encounter.

What makes Edition II considerably more interesting, however, is what is inside.

The RTM001 Manufacture calibre, developed with Pequignet in Morteau, delivers up to 77 hours of power reserve. It means the mechanical specification finally feels as serious as the case surrounding it.

I also rather like the midnight-blue dial.

RALF TECH could easily have made everything black and aggressive. Instead, the blue and Old Radium lume introduce just enough warmth to remind you that this remains a mechanical watch intended to be enjoyed, not merely a pressure vessel with hands.

And despite that incredible 4,000m rating, the case is only 17mm thick — still substantial, of course, but remarkable given what it has been engineered to withstand.

Only 77 pieces exist.

For me, THE BEAST is not really about diving deeper.

It is about the peculiar pleasure of owning something engineered far beyond anything you could reasonably ask of it.
