Von Doren Reti Mark II Blue 39mm
A watch inspired not simply by chess, but by eleven moves of extraordinary precision.
Created as the official watch of Norway Chess, the Von Doren Réti Mark II pays tribute to the celebrated 1910 encounter between Richard Réti and Savielly Tartakower — a game concluded in just eleven moves.
Rather than decorating a conventional watch with chess pieces, Von Doren has incorporated the game itself into the design. Réti’s eleven moves become part of the hour-marker language, while the complete sequence of play is reproduced across the caseback.
The 39mm stainless-steel case keeps the watch compact and elegant, framing a rich sunburst dial available in either Blue or Green. Swiss Super-LumiNova® C1 provides visibility after dark, while inside sits the dependable Swiss Ronda 1069 quartz movement.
Only 150 individually numbered examples of each colour will be produced.
Why buy it?
Because this is one of those rare themed watches where the idea actually shapes the design.
The chess connection is not simply a logo or decorative motif. The moves themselves become part of the watch.
A remarkably elegant way to keep one of chess history’s great miniature masterpieces on the wrist.
