Foundry — Built for Those Who Build

Finally, a “MAN-made” watch — genuine, honest and proud. There is something refreshingly honest about Foundry Watch Co. A British independent watchmaker, Foundry begins with something far more compelling: a clear idea of who its watches are for — people who work. People who make things happen. People who take pride in earning what they own. That philosophy immediately caught our attention.

A timepiece with purpose

The name Foundry is particularly well chosen. A foundry is a place of transformation — where raw material becomes something useful through heat, skill and work. There is a similar spirit behind the brand. Foundry is not trying to create watches that exist only to be admired from a distance. These are watches intended to become part of everyday life: worn to work, travelled with, marked by experience and eventually connected to memories.

That idea feels wonderfully grounded. There is no pretence here. Just the belief that a well-made watch should feel special because of the thought, effort and character behind it.

And this connection with work is not simply a marketing idea.

Foundry’s identity genuinely originates in the world of construction, engineering and infrastructure — the built environment and the people whose skill, judgement and hard work turn plans into something real.

It is where the brand’s character comes from. The working man’s watch, reinvented. The idea of the working man’s watch once carried real meaning. It was not a disposable object and it was not simply decoration. It was something dependable, personal and often deeply valued because it had been bought with money that had genuinely been earned.

Foundry reconnects with that spirit, but interprets it for our digital and busy current times.

Foundry’s creations are contemporary and carefully designed, yet they retain that sense of accessibility and purpose. They are made for someone who appreciates good design and engineering without needing a famous name on the dial to validate the choice. For Sincrono, that independence of thought is important.

Quality Matters

What impressed us most about Foundry is not simply the passion behind the design and concept. At Sincrono we are always looking for the unique, passionate, beautiful and occasionally quirky. Let’s face it, boring is not what we are — or what we can endure for very long.

Foundry’s first timepiece fits this philosophy beautifully. The Foreman 45 Founding Edition looks and feels as though it could have been hammered into existence in a sweltering workshop: furnaces burning, metal being worked, the rhythmic sound of industry all around it.

It feels strong. Steely. Purposeful. The emphasis is immediately palpable as soon as the Foreman reaches the wrist. The focus is on the things that matter: solidity, proportion, materials, finishing, engineering character and the feeling that somebody has thought carefully about the object as a whole. All things that convey genuine value. Foundry belongs clearly and positively in this category.

Foundry has created something with considerable substance and personality — the kind of watch that leaves its owner feeling they have discovered rather more than they expected.

Why “Foreman”? The name Foreman is no accident. In a working environment, the foreman is where planning meets reality — coordinating people, materials, workmanship and progress, making sure that what has been conceived actually gets built. That connection sits naturally at the heart of Foundry. Built For Those Who Build. It is also why the brand has adopted as their own the #WearTheWork tag. The Foreman 45 is not intended to represent work from a distance. It is designed to accompany the people doing it.

The Founding Edition

The first creation from the newborn Foundry changes the emotional proposition entirely. Every established watch company eventually develops a history, but there is only one moment when that history begins. The Foreman 45 — Founding Edition represents that moment for Foundry.

It establishes the design language, philosophy and standards against which future collections will inevitably be judged. A declaration of intent, if you will — something matching the philosophy of the brand, a trailblazer and a memento for the future to stay true to its roots. And the meaning of Founding Edition is very specific.

Only 50 Foreman 45 Founding Edition watches will exist — representing the first 50 production watches in Foundry Watch Co.’s history. After those original fifty, the Foreman 45 will continue. The Founding Edition will not, and Foundry has another rather lovely distinction for the people who become part of this opening chapter:

The watch is the Foreman 45 — Founding Edition and its proud owner becomes a Founding Member. A badge of honour for those who joined Foundry’s vision early, who saw the writing on the wall… probably scratched with a screwdriver on the concrete!

Years from now, as the company develops and new models appear, those first fifty watches will always belong to its opening chapter. Cherished. Remembered. Connected permanently to the moment at which Foundry began. There is something particularly appealing about that.

Much of this sentiment is inevitably lost with brands whose history stretches back generations, altered over time by ownership changes, commercial necessity and the simple demands of business.

Every watch company has a first chapter. Most of us discover brands only after that chapter has already become history. With Foundry, we have the opportunity to see it happening now. You are part of the story while it is still being written. We want to be. And we are inviting you in.

Why Foundry belongs at Sincrono

At Sincrono, we have never selected watches according to quality or prestige alone. What matters is whether there is a reason for the watch to exist. Does it offer something different? Does it have character? Does the quality justify the proposition? And, perhaps most importantly, does it create that small emotional reaction that makes somebody want to put it on their wrist?

Foundry does. There is an honesty to what the company is trying to achieve that fits naturally with our approach to independent watchmaking. The quality is spot on. The ethos is positive and makes sense, we can identify with it. The philosophy has substance.

And the Foreman 45 — Founding Edition gives collectors something that cannot be recreated later: the opportunity to experience a British independent watchmaker at the very beginning of its journey. We could not miss that!

The first fifty watches. The first fifty Founding Members. The beginning of Foundry Watch Co.

And perhaps, years from now, the most interesting thing about owning one will simply be being able to say: “I was there at the beginning.”
