DWISS seeing is believing

London 2 October 2025

Today I finally managed to get my hands on an ultra rare DWISS M3s Mysterious Hours in blue (my favourite colour) and wear it!

I met the genius behind the multi award winning (25+ won so far) design of these unique and special pieces and owner of the brand, Rafael Simoes Miranda. We met in London at one of the capital’s many watch lovers gatherings. He is an easygoing and very nice gent from Portugal with an incredible talent for design and intricate details. The watch itself is a triumph of unique features and elaborate details, from the almost byzantine and partially skeletonised dial with no hands (the “Mysterious” part) to the horizontal screws on the side of the case, everything screams unique and elegant.

The real surprise though comes from the attention to details, like the case that opens like an engagement ring precious bouquet to the instruction manual which doubles as playing cards… (yes! Spades, hearts, jacks, queens and kings…) to finish it off with the exquisite bracelets that are soft and pliable (the silicone) and extraordinarily simple and flexible (the steel one).

Rafael artistry has already produced many (MANY) masterpieces that literally disappear immediately in private collections and the vaults of watch connoisseurs… so to get to see one in the metal is an event, nay an experience! I can honestly say that I would buy every single one of the watches that Rafael designed and launched over the years with his DWISS brand, I cannot see anyone of the past designs that I would not like immediately.

I had seen them in pictures but I was not expecting the emotional connection I already developed with the M3s to happen. It is as unusual as they get, elegant as much as a tuxedo at a dinner with the king, it is an object of conversation every time, how to read the mysterious hours? Telling the time is very much visibile and clear to all who know the secret of how to read the mysterious hours dial.

I like my watches to be usable and useful, and I was skeptical that such a design oriented

piece would sit comfortably on my wrist through one of my typical weeks (cycling, building stuff, travelling, trekking, driving, smashing things to smithereens…erm) instead I had the M3 at my wrist for more than a week now and I haven’t felt the need to go back to my trusted military models, not once I have changed it and the timepiece soldiered on unaffected by the many trials it had to endure at my wrists…

One can only appreciate in person the talent and passion condensed in these objects of love and admiration. It is essential to view one up close to feel the curves, the flat polished and brushed ridges of the case, the minutiae of the movement through the crystal case back, … knowing that the time is a secret matter between you and your Dwiss.

Come and see this masterpiece and the rest of the collection at our next event in London on Sunday, 12th of October 2025 at the London Watch Fair in the historic ballroom of the Heathrow’s Sheraton Skyline Hotel from 7:30 am until 2 pm, link below to the official event page. I am sure that, once you see these, you will share my views and passion for these outstanding horological marvels.
