Von Doren Runde Vintage 39mm
Vintage inspiration works best when it captures an atmosphere rather than simply copying an old watch.
That is exactly what the Von Doren Runde Vintage does.
Inspired by the clean watches of the 1950s and 1960s, it combines those restrained proportions with colours drawn from the Norwegian coastline: weathered rock, driftwood and the warm golden light of late summer.
At the centre is a beautiful copper and salmon-toned sunburst dial, contrasted by a black small-seconds subdial. The colour shifts subtly as the light moves across it, giving what is otherwise a very simple watch surprising depth.
The warm dial is framed by a rose-gold-toned stainless-steel case and paired with brown leather, reinforcing the vintage character without allowing the watch to become overly nostalgic.
At 39mm, with a thickness of just 10.7mm and a compact 46mm lug-to-lug measurement, the Runde remains wonderfully easy to wear.
Inside is the dependable Swiss Ronda 1069 quartz movement, a four-jewel calibre chosen for accuracy, reliability and minimal maintenance. Water resistance is rated to 50 metres, while Swiss Super-LumiNova® C1 provides visibility after dark.

The caseback is engraved like a ducat from the Runde Treasure, recalling the extraordinary cargo of the Dutch merchant ship Akerendam, wrecked near the Norwegian island of Runde in 1725 and rediscovered by divers almost 250 years later.
