RALF TECH WRX HISTORIC Automatic Moonlight 47mm
The name may suggest darkness. The dial is what catches the light.
The WRX Automatic Moonlight belongs to an earlier mechanical generation of RALF TECH's most important professional watch — and today survives as part of the brand's N.O.S. collection.
Its imposing 47.5mm sandblasted black-PVD steel case surrounds a beautifully unusual engine-turned steel dial, creating a striking contrast between the darkness of the case and the changing reflections of the metal beneath the sapphire.
Inside is the Swiss RTA001 automatic movement, developed from the proven ETA 2824-2 architecture and offering up to 44 hours of power reserve. A huge 5.9mm curved sapphire crystal, protected screw-down crown and professional diving bezel accompany an impressive 400 metres / 1,320 feet of water resistance.
A hand-sewn black alligator strap gives the Moonlight an unexpectedly luxurious character, while a black silicone strap is also supplied.
Only 500 numbered examples were produced.
Why buy it?
Because this is no longer simply a discontinued WRX.
It is an original mechanical RALF TECH from an earlier chapter of the collection, preserved new and unworn while most surviving examples have inevitably entered collections or been worn over the years.
And that engine-turned steel dial gives the Moonlight a character unlike almost any modern WRX.
Darkness around the edges, light at the centre — and a piece of RALF TECH history that cannot simply be made again.
