RALF TECH Academie Automatic Manufacture First Edition Cream Dial 41mm
There is something wonderfully reassuring about a cream dial. It doesn't demand attention. It earns it gradually.
The Académie Manufacture First Edition takes RALF TECH's most classical watch and gives it both a new mechanical heart and a rather beautiful new character.
At its centre is a lacquered cream dial, surrounded by a polished 41mm steel case and complemented by elegant Dauphine hands. The combination feels warm, restrained and unmistakably traditional without becoming nostalgic.
Then turn the watch over.
Behind the sapphire caseback sits the RTM001 Manufacture automatic movement, developed in Morteau by Pequignet and manufactured in France. Its bidirectional winding, 28,800 vibrations-per-hour frequency and efficient escapement allow an impressive 77-hour power reserve.
It represents a considerable mechanical step beyond the standard Académie.
The hand-sewn black alligator strap brings a more formal character, while the supplied black Tropic silicone strap offers a very different way to wear it. Water resistance is 50 metres, reflecting the more horologically focused nature of this Manufacture edition.
And only 22 pieces will be produced.
Why buy it?
Because the cream dial gives this watch something specifications cannot quite describe.
It softens the polished steel, works beautifully with the warmth of the Old Radium lume and gives the Académie the atmosphere of a watch that might have existed decades ago — even though the movement beating inside is thoroughly contemporary.
The real luxury here is not extravagance.
It is restraint.
A thoroughly French mechanical proposition wrapped in the quiet elegance of another era.
